Etude House Wonder Pore Corrector Review

Etude House is one of my favorite Korean brands when it comes to cosmetics and skin care products. I don't know if it's because Koreans are close to my heart or since I look like one. :) I've been reading good reviews of Wonder Pore line so when I saw a stock in Bacoor, I didn't hesitate and bought one. :)

Product to be reviewed: Etude House Wonder Pore Corrector
Price: 749 Pesos/ Around $18-20
Where to buy: Etude House
Where did I buy: Etude House Bacoor
For what:Pore Corrector

According to Etude's website:

Description
This is a light and moist gel- type spot essence that helps you maintain firm and clean pores with its multi-function of sebum control, pore toning, dead skin cell exfoliating, pore firming, and moisturizing capabilities.

Directions
At the last stage of basic skincare, dispense a small amount and absorb into areas that need special care. For more effective absorption, massage gently with Wonder Pore Corrector’s cooling tip instead of using fingers.

Caution
1. For external use only.
2. Avoid contact with eyes
3. Keep out of reach of children.
4. Discontinue use if signs of irritation and/or rash appear.

Ingredients
Water, alcohol, silica, butylene glycol, xylitol, wine extract, chamaecyparis obtusa water, ginkgo biloba leaf extract, gentiana lutea root extract, artemisia absinthium extract, arnica montana flower extract, achillea millefolium extract, peg- 60hydrogenated castor oil, menthoxypropanediol, glyceryl caprylate, xanthan gum, carbomer, tromethamine, disodium edta, fragrance

Pogi Points:

1. It tightens pores! It's a minute miracle. :)

2. An effective oil control product leaving my face a smooth matte finish.

3. I love the cooling effect of the roller/tip.

4. The tube could last for 6 months. Just a small amount of gel can cover your T-zone area. :)

5. The packaging looks cute. Though it is intended for women, the sales attendant said it's for everyone. :)

Downside:

1. You cannot leave it overnight for it may cause breakout.

2. It's not hygienic since you can't clean the roller/tip.

3. It has alcohol content.

Mr. Pogi says:
I will give Etude House Wonder Pore Corrector a POGI POINTS of 4.5/5

✓.

Since I am not fond of moisturizers which I know I needed most, I believe I've found an alternative for it. :) This is a good primer as well for ladies, but I consider this more of a skin care product. This is best for oily and combination skin type. I am not sure if it would work perfectly to those who have dry skin. I am recommending this for people who have open pores. :)

I will definitely be getting my second tube soon. :)

L'Occitane's Conditioner and Les Notes de Lanvin's Shower Gel and Shampoo Review

Today I'll be doing a review with these three new products that I have. :)

Product to be reviewed: L'Occitane's Apres-Shampooing Conditioner
Price: 350 Pesos (Mall Price)
Where to buy: L'Occitane Boutique
Where did I buy: Friend
For what: Hair Conditioner

L'Occitane en Provence and commonly known as L'Occitane, is an international retailer of body, face, fragrances and home products based in Manosque, France. The company was founded in 1976 by Oliver Baussan with the purpose to create a company that celebrates and preserves the traditions of his native Provence. The company name means "the Occitan woman (from Provence)"

Pogi Points:

1. It's compact. I can put this in my bag and bring it anywhere.

2. I love how it makes my hair so smooth and silky! It's perfect for those who want a commercial looking hair. :)

3. The packaging looks classic. The simplicity makes the product more appealing.

4. It has natural ingredients; no harsh chemicals for your hair. :)

Downside:

1. I personally don't like the smell. I am not fond of  lavender, but my dad likes it.

----Ok. I think I'm starting to love it :)

2. Not affordable for those who are in a tight budget. If you are going to compare its price to other shampoo products, you can already get a 250ml size.

Mr. Pogi says:

I will give L'Occitane's Apres-Shampooing Conditioner an AWESOME POGI POINTS of 5/5

Despite the fact that their products are pricey, L'Occitane is still a brand to look for. I believe that it's all with the scent that they established patronizers, around the world. :)

In 1924 Jeanne Lanvin opened her atelier de parfums in Paris and a world of olfactory delights was born. Les Notes de Lanvin continues the fragrance legacy with refined collections for the bath, body, and home with gender collections for the utmost hospitality experience. The notes have become objects of desire that take a guest beyond the travel experience and into the everyday life of luxury.

Product to be reviewed: Les Notes De Lanvin's Shower Gel
Price: 150 Pesos (Friend's price)
Where to buy: Online shop
Where did I buy: Friend
For what: Shower gel

Pogi Points:

1. I am falling in love with this shower gel. This makes my skin so soft. I don't even need to put lotion for the entire day. :)

2. I love the smell. What I like most is it could last for hours.

3. The price is reasonable for the benefits it could provide.

Downside:

1. I've been searching if this is available in the Philippines, but I guess they are not being sold here yet. Though their perfumes are available in boutiques around Metro Manila.

2. Quite expensive for a 45ml tube. I could finish this for 2-3 weeks of regular use. Haha.

Product to be reviewed: Les Notes De Lanvin's Shampoo
Price: 150 Pesos (Friend's price)
Where to buy: Online shop
Where did I buy: Friend
For what: Shampoo

Pogi Points:

1. This has same scent with the shower gel. It smells perfume but light and fresh scent. :)

2. It makes my hair soft and manageable. :)

Downside:

1. If you are after bubbles, this is not a brand for you. I could compare this to a baby shampoo.

2. Same with shower gel, this is quite expensive for a 45 ml tube.

Mr. Pogi says:

I will give Les Notes De Lanvin's Shower Gel and Shampoo an AWESOME POGI POINTS of 4.5/5

✓.

One factor that I didn't give it a perfect 5 is that it's not available locally in the Philippines, yet. The stocks will depend on the supplier and of course there's a tendency that I may not get one. Aside from that, I will definitely repurchase the shower gel! :)

By the way, if you know or have seen this product locally, kindly comment on the reply section below. :)

I also bought a pair of Solaire slippers for 50 Pesos! I like this 'coz it's comfortable, perfect companion after long hours of work! :)

For those who want to try and buy this, you may contact me at  kl.octavo@yahoo.com. Cheers! :)

Freshman Masculine Wash Review

Gone are the days when only women are conscious with their hygiene and how they look. As a matter of fact, a lot of beauty and skin care products are now specialized for men. But who will believe these companies would exceed the limit, now we have the counterpart of Feminine wash, literally. . . .the MASCULINE WASH!

You read it right. We now have Masculine wash. :)

So how is it different from other soaps or shower gels?

This is not new in the Philippines. Actually, they are being sold here since 2010, but it is just lately that consumers and bloggers have joined the rave. According to my research, masculine wash may not be a counterpart of feminine wash since men's private parts are not susceptible to bacteria unlike women's. Though this wash could relieve itchiness and odor.

Product to be reviewed: Freshman Masculine Wash
Price: 79 Pesos/ around 2$
Where to buy: Watson's, SM Department Store
Where did I buy: Watson's (SM Bacoor)
For what: Relieve itchiness and odor

There are 2 variants of Freshman, one is Freeze and the other one is Original. I chose Freeze for one reason; this has 24 hour protection. I am not sure if Original has it too.

Promise:

1. Thoroughly cleans unlike ordinary soap.

2. Eliminates and protects you from germs that cause unwanted odor and itchiness.

3. Helps the immune system in the helping process of minor scrapes and wounds.

4. Properly moisturizes the skin and gives you a cool and fresh feeling that lasts all day.

5. Is neutrally balanced at ph7 making it as a gentle on the skin as pure water.

Looks interesting and promising right?

Directions for use:

1. Wash area with water
2. Pour a small amount on your hand.
3. Gently massage the solution onto the genital area making it lather for 3 minutes.
4. Rinse thoroughly.

Pogi Points:

1. Affordable, for the good effects it could give.

2. It smells good. It smells Nivea Facial Wash or I would want to compare it to a Baby Cologne. Haha.
.
3. I love the cool and fresh feeling after using this.

4. I was surprised that this is ph7. Hence, it is really gentle on skin.

Downside:

1. "Helps the immune system in the helping process of minor scrapes and wounds," I don't know how it would help in the process? Enlighten me, anyone? :)

Mr. Pogi says:

I will give Freshman Masculine Wash an AWESOME POGI POINTS of 5/5

As an experimental type of person, I would say that it's one of the products to keep. We, men should not just be presentable outside but as well inside. :P This would definitely be a good additional for daily regimen. :)

Neutrogena's Deep Clean Facial Toner Review

2 years after I started Mrpogitips, my blog posts are if not top, one of the top blog posts on Google. Yey! Achievement! It just means that there's no reason for me to get lazy blogging. :)

Thank you so much readers! :)

Today I'll be reviewing one of my sister's favorite brands, NEUTROGENA! :)

Product to be reviewed: Neutrogena's Deep Clean Facial Toner
Price: 324 Pesos/ around 8$
Where to buy: Watson's, SM Department Store
Where did I buy: Watson's (SM Bacoor)
For what: Helps to effectively eliminate blackheads, prevent blackheads

Before anything else, what is a toner?

According to teenvogue.com:

Toners help to eliminate excess oil and bacteria that your everyday cleanser may not have cleared, and many people like them for the way that they leave skin feeling fresh and clean.

What time of the day should I use toner?

Toner is best used after taking a bath and before putting any skin care products/cosmetics on your face. So before putting moisturizer, make sure you have your toner first! :) Do this 2x a day, morning and before hitting the sack.

So everyone, toner is a need specially if you're in mid 20s. :)

Click the image to enlarge. :)

Pogi Points:

1. Affordable. It could last for about 2-3 months. :)

2. It removes excess dirt that facial wash can't.

3. It leaves cooling sensation on face. This makes me think and feel that my pores are getting tighter. :)

4. It is best for oily and combi type of skin. It controls oil, but keeping my skin hydrated.

Downside:

1. It has Salicylic Acid. Most of the bloggers say that this ingredient could dry and thin skin. But based on my research, as long as you don't have sensitive skin, you may use this.

Mr. Pogi says:

I will give Neutrogena's Deep Clean Facial Toner an AWESOME POGI POINTS of 5/5

I am quite bias with my review since this is my favorite toner, so far. Haha. I am already on my third/fourth bottle. I am enjoying, and of course contented. I hope this fits everyone as well. :)

Let me take a selfie! :)
