#browgoals ACHIEVED! :)

Who says men can't achieve #browgoals? :)

#browgoals, #nomakeuplook, #wokeuplikethis are usually the hashtags we see on social media. With the advancement of technology, nowadays, nothing is impossible. We can now achieve these hashtags effortlessly. As beauty experts say, there are three parts of the face that we need to focus on- lips, cheeks and eyebrows. In this blog entry, I'll be focusing on eyebrows. :)

I started to become brow conscious, 3 years ago when I got an offer to be an extra in a TV show here in the Philippines. :)

Below is the before shape of my eyebrows. They are actually inspired from my favorite Korean male Youtuber, Edward. :)

Difference between Eyebrow Tattoo and Eyebrow Embroidery

According to an article published on beaupass.com,
Eyebrow Tattooing, the first generation of its kind, generally produces a very unnatural crayoned effect similar to the regular tattoo on any part of the skin. The eyebrows will look harsher and have an imprinted effect, which could potentially make your eyebrows the centre of attention in any make up look. The process of eyebrow tattooing involves the use of a machine operated single needle moving at high speed, where ink is deposited deep in the dermis layer. Eyebrow Tattooing will also fade into shades of green and blue over time as well as look patchy due to the nature of the insertion of dye into the dermis of the skin layer. On the other hand, Eyebrow Embroidery is the latest technique where a semi permanent pigment is pushed into the skin surface using a fine blade, which mimics the growth of your existing hair strands, creating more natural looking brows. The depth in which the embroidery blade cuts the skin surface is less than that in the Eyebrow Tattooing, which minimizes permanent damages and also could allow you to change your brow shape in the next few years when it fades away. Embroidered eyebrows will fade off together, allowing you to alter them wholly when this happens.
I am fortunate that I had the opportunity to try Embroidery offered by MK The Brow Expert. Yey! :)

The ambiance of the salon is cozy. They have perfect selfie spots, especially their diva ring light. A must try and a must have! :) But for bloggers and cosmetic junkies, I'm sure you will fall inlove on their skin care products available all around their salon, within your reach. :)

Me inside the salon, while waiting for the Anesthesia to take effect. :) Mr. Bean look. Haha. :)

Ms. Keighty, the owner is so accommodating. :) She will entertain you from the time you enter her place. She has "TRUST ME. I'M AN EXPERT." vibe.

THE EXPERIENCE

Honestly, my heart was pounding at first for the concept of eyebrow embroidery uses needles. I'm not afraid of needles, but of course for the fact that I don't know what to expect. Haha. Second is that I am making a risk for my eyebrows. The procedure may either look good on me, or it will be a failure. Third and last, I have to go to work the following day, and afraid of the "after procedure look". I am glad Ms. Keithy and Je for debunking those ideas on my mind. They asked me what shape I want, and what shape is best for me. Both of them are great brow advisers! The procedure only took 15 minutes. :)

Is it PAINFUL?

The procedure is not painful nor painless, tolerable. Big thanks to Anesthesia. :)

What to expect?

Day 1-6: Color will be very dark.
Day 7-10: Color pigmentation will peel off. Do not use fingers to peel it off. Let it peel off naturally. At this time, the color on the brows may seem uneven. DO NOT PANIC! The color will fade significantly and over the next 4 weeks continue to fade as much as 50%.

If you aren't happy with the result, (1) touch up is ABSOLUTELY FREE! :)

You will need to return for your touch up treatment not later than 4-6 weeks after treatment.

10 DAY- AFTER CARE INSTRUCTIONS:

DOs:

1. Apply natural oil over your brow area 3-4 times a day for the first few days to avoid scabbing. This oils heals the brow area holistically as well as getting the best results in retaining pigment color in the skin.
2. For sensitive/swollen skin, apply an anti-bacterial ointment for 7 days, both day and night. Apply natural oil in between.
3. Take any pain reliever tablet if pain occurs.

DONTs:

1. Do not wet/wash eyebrows for 24 hours. Residual pigment, blood, white blood cells, etc. can  arise from the open wound.
2. Gently dab away dust particles on the first day.
3. No swimming.
4. No sweating in the gym.
5. No make-up on the eyebrow area.
6. No anti-ageing creams on the brow area.
7. Do not itch scratch the brow area or pull scabs away.
8. Do not pick scabs if any appear.
9. Leave your brow area alone, letting it heal totally for at least 10 days.
