The Legend Villas: Home Away From Home

Been wanting to go home in your province, but you can't? You will never miss home with this Filipino-Spanish themed hotel found in the heart of the urban city, Mandaluyong- The Legend Villas! :)

The Legend Villas is 100% Filipino owned 3-star hotel that opened its door to public in year 1990. The history of the hotel is quite exciting to know. The business started from motel establishments around Metro Manila, but after the owner became Christian, he decided to venture into 'Christian' hotel chain. :)

I was one of the lucky bloggers who was chosen to spend a day inside the hotel. Don't get envy guys, for I will give you a virtual tour of their amenities. :)

Location:

The hotel is near SM Megamall and is located at the intersection of Pioneer and Madison Streets in Mandaluyong City. It is merely 5 minutes from Robinsons Forum Pioneer along EDSA. This hotel near Ortigas is also a convergent point to the central Mandaluyong district through the Boni Avenue Tunnel and going through the Shaw-Ortigas interchange.

Hi BGC! :) BGC is also quite near the place. :)

The hotel is easier to find using waze. It's just a walking distance from MRT Boni. :)

First Impression:

I was the early bird, and being a curious and adventurous blogger, I already gave myself a tour of the hotel. Haha. :)

You will be amazed once you enter the vicinity of Legend 'coz you will be redirected into another dimension. Am I in the Spanish era? :) I felt like walking in the streets of Crisologo in Vigan or Urdaneta Street of Intramuros. I was actually waiting for Caballeros to welcome me. Haha.

Maria Clara, are you there? :)

Hotel Entrance

Following the footsteps of Rizal. HAHA.

Arhitectural Design:

The Architectural Design of The Legend Villas is a combination of Spanish and Filipino design. I never thought it will be a great idea to combine both. :) The hotel is like a modernized ancestral home. :)

Parol (lantern) hanging on a stained glass window. Look at the second picture. I love the idea of using wood as a cover for aircon. :)

Their stairs are made of wood. :)
Elevator, though considered as modern, they still make it look like from the Spanish time.

Vinta designs on their walls. :)
Hand knotted rugs from Cordillera/Mindanao. :)

This area is cozy. A nice place for writing blog entries. :) Rizal mate, where art thou? :)

Unlike any other hotels out there, it is my first time to experience a hotel, offering a homey feel. Other hotels will offer their luxurious and state-of-the-art facilities. I think this is the concept of The Legend: You are more relaxed and comfortable if you are home. :)

As I have said, if you intend to stay at The Legend Villas you will have a complimentary buffet breakfast at Lola Maria. Don't ever take this for granted or never miss the chance to eat here. :)

No need to worry for those foodies, the restaurant is open for walk-in customers or you may call/email them if you want to reserve. :)

Lola Maria offers authentic Filipino cuisine. They say, grandmothers are the best cooks. Who will say no to home-cooked food prepared by our grandmother? :)

Here are the set of food during my stay:

Tokwa't Baboy, Toasted Green Salad and Ensaladang Mangga with Bagoong

Shanghai Rice

Dinakdakan and Beef Kare-Kare

Pancit and Fresh Lumpiang Hubad

Pininyahang Manok and Grilled Fish

Nilaga
Fresh Fruits and Brazo Bombs

I initially plan not to blog this food part, but Ugh! I can't help it. Missing their food already. One of the best in Metro! The highlight of your stay. :)

Be sure your tummy is prepared when you come to Lola Maria. Why? I'm pretty sure you will keep coming back for more. Forget the word DIET for their food is to DIE for. :) There is something special to the taste of food. They keep the food simple, no twist. But the taste explodes inside one's mouth. I can't choose my favorite dish since everything is my favorite. Haha. :) Will definitely visit the resto, again with friends. :)

Mr. Pogi says:

I admire the brave decision of the owner for renovating his motels to hotels. I know it was difficult for him, but he did great. Of course that is with the help of God. :) He turned his motels into a masterpiece! Clap** Clap** :)

Indeed, The Legend Villas is a hidden gem in the Metro. Aside from artsy facilities, good service and sumptuous food, it feels like home. :) It could be a perfect getaway with the family. I'm sure that kids and parents will enjoy the amenities and food. :)

If you are saturated with the busy life and want to have a short escape from the bustling metropolis, The Legend Villas is a comfort zone. You can relax, unwind, be yourself and feel at home. I also recommend this to foreigners. :) You will have an authentic Filipino culture experience during your stay. :)

As their tagline says, more than just an elegant hotel, at Legend Villas you will experience a familiar, comfortable and heartwarming one. Truly, your second home. :)

Marriott Hotel Manila's Global Customer Appreciation Week

Spooky.

Scary.

White lady.

No, this is not a Horror booth or Breakout Manila. This is how Marriott Hotel says thank you to its loyal customers!

Last October 28, Marriott Hotel Manila held its Global Customer Appreciation Week. It’s an annual event that the hotel treats their valid customers with a lavish party. Everyone is encouraged to wear their best Halloween costume. :)

The event started with opening remarks by the General Manager of Mariott Manila, Bruce Winton. Followed by an intermission number of the Beatles of the Philippines, Bloomfields. Next and the most awaited part was choosing the best Halloween costume!

The party was hosted by the Director of Marketing Communications of Marriott Hotel Manila, Michelle Garcia and celebrity host, Ruffa Gutierrez.

Everyone enjoyed the hotel’s treat of delicious buffet and overflowing drinks. Of course, still with a Halloween twist! I enjoyed the food so much. :)

This is my #OOTD for the event. Special thank you to Mogao Philippines for my top. This is perfect for the event, elegant and sophisticated. :)
